Advocate Services

Many seniors and their family members struggle with the same questions:

  • When and how can I apply for Social Security and Medicare benefits?
  • Do I have the right supplemental Medicare insurance?
  • Should I buy long-term care insurance?
  • What are my mother's options for receiving long-term care?
  • Can someone help me write checks to pay my bills?
  • What records should I keep as my father's Power of Attorney?

Berks Encore can assist you with these questions and be your advocate. We offer community educational sessions as well as one-on-one counseling. We help develop individualized plans to meet the needs of each client. We do not sell any insurance or financial products; instead, we can give you information on all of your options and unbiased counsel on their benefits.

For a pro-rated hourly rate, we will provide the following:

  • Social Security and Medicare Benefit Planning:
Enrollment assistance, review of your Medicare insurance options, a documented personal insurance plan, annual review of Medicare options, updates on Medicare benefits and the impact of Healthcare Reform
  • Long-Term Living Planning:
Types of care and costs of local facilities, LTC insurance options, transitioning to a facility
  • Check writing and Budgeting
  • Fiduciary Bookkeeping

Berks Encore is poised to be your one-stop source for unbiased and professional education, advocacy, referrals and services for older adults and their families as they work through the maze of modern-day aging.
