After Dark
In an effort to reach a younger audience or one that still works during the day, we are creating a new program called Berks Encore @ Nite. The program's goal is to provide some of the same programming options that are generally held during the day and making them available during the evening.
Berks Encore @ Nite Series
On the second Thursday of each month Berks Encore's staff will present evening programs at St. Joseph Medical Center. The Berks Encore @ Nite series will focus on topics such as Medicare, powers of attorney, asset protection, and long-term living options. The sessions will begin at 6:30 p.m. and generally last an hour. Please note that some sessions will occur on other days and at other locations, pending room availability.

Center Activities and Programs
Table Tennis
The Wernersville Center offers table tennis on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7:30-11 p.m. Please call (610) 670-1372 for more information.
Social Dance and Lesson
The Wernersville Center will be holding an evening social dance with lesson on January 25. Please call (610) 670-1372 for more information.
Supper Club
Join the Hamburg Center for a Supper Clulb on the third Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy casual, evenning dining at different northern Berks County restaurants. Call Terry at (610) 562-4721 for details.

In addition, for the past two years the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program included night hours. This past year, the number of nights was expanded due to the high demand. Similarly, plans include offering evening hours during Medicare enrollment (October 15-December 7) to make it easier for those who work to schedule an appointment.
Berks Encore News
A new section will be included in Berks Encore News specifically for the Berks Encore @ Nite offerings. Each month upcoming events that are held after normal center hours will be listed.
Other Programming
In addition, programs such as the 50+ Singles Mixer are included as part of the Berks Encore @ Nite offerings. While these programs are not educational events, they present the opportunity for seniors to meet during the evening. Other programming options that are not necessarily center-centric will be developed to expand this segment.
