Power of Attorney Seminars
There is perhaps no more difficult task one can perform than becoming responsible for another person's assets and/or health care. Too often, people are unaware of what is expected of them and they make innocent mistakes that create problems for themselves and family members.

Please join us for an informative overview of how to use powers of attorny (POA) properly. The seminar includes a discussion on the importance of holding a POA, different types of POAs, and the legal issues involving people who serve as an agent under a POA. The instructor is Certified Elder Law Attorney William R. Blumer from Leisawitz Heller.

Community Medicare Supplemental Insurance Information Sessions

 Berks Encore's APPRISE Counselors will be conducting public information sessions throughout the summer to address concerns regarding changes to Medicare Supplemental Insurance options.  Since Medicare coverage has many aspects and supplemental insurance options to choose from, Berks Encore enourages attendance at one of the following sessions:

  • July 21 @ 10 a.m.:  Berks Encore - Mifflin
  • July 21 @ 6:30 p.m.:  St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Douglassville
  • July 26 @ 10 a.m.: Berks Encore - Providence House
  • August 2 @ 3 p.m.:  Village Library, Morgantown
  • August 10 @ 6:30 p.m.:  St. Joseph's Hospital, Bernville
  • August 19 @ 10 a.m.:  Schuylkill Valley Bible Church, Mohrsville
    Note: Lunch is available after this session for a suggested donation of $2.50. Please call (610) 926-1140 by August 11 for lunch reservations.
